A welcoming, accessible destination designed for visitors of all abilities.

Getting Here and Moving Around

Old Wheels Grind is designed as a relaxed, accessible destination where visitors can enjoy their time without needing to navigate stairs or difficult access points. The permanent site is level and has no stairs, making it easier for visitors using mobility aids, wheelchairs or prams to move around the area. There is plenty of parking available nearby, including space suitable for larger vehicles and buses, which is particularly helpful for groups and local disability organisations.

The site has accessible toilet facilities and an open layout that allows visitors to move between the food service area, seating and surrounding spaces comfortably. There are plenty of places to sit and relax, including seating within the permanent site and additional seating provided through the old train on the property.

The relaxed outdoor environment also provides space for families, children and visitors who may require additional room or flexibility during their visit. We aim to provide a welcoming environment where visitors can take their time, enjoy the food and experience the unique Old Wheels Grind setting at their own pace.

Inclusive Food and Visitor Experience

Old Wheels Grind aims to make its food and visitor experience accessible to as many people as possible. We understand that visitors have different dietary requirements and offer alternative milk options for customers who are vegan or lactose intolerant. We also hold a monthly gluten-free and vegan doughnut day, providing an opportunity for customers with additional dietary requirements to enjoy our freshly cooked cinnamon doughnuts.

The site is family friendly, with plenty of room for children to play and space for families to relax. Toys are available for children, and the property is also pet friendly, allowing visitors to enjoy the experience with their dogs.

We use simple, easy-to-understand signage to assist visitors who may have limited English. Staff are approachable and happy to assist customers with questions or individual requirements wherever possible.

Our approach to accessibility is about creating a relaxed environment where people feel comfortable, welcome and able to enjoy the experience. We continue to look for practical ways to improve accessibility and ensure Old Wheels Grind remains a welcoming destination for the wider community and visitors to Mudgee.
